Membership login code = 4670. Established in 1963 (second only to Wind N Sea also in Qld) the club a non-profit organisation was around for quite a few years until it disbanded in 1976, however due to renewed interest and the ever growing popularity in surfing the club was reformed in 2001. Member commitment has seen the club work tirelessly for the benefit of promoting surfing at Bundabergs beautiful beaches and supporting the talented surfers coming out of this region. The club is known to be one of the best organised boardriding clubs on the eastern seaboard of Australia. Members ages range from 4 years to early 60s. Pacifique Surfriders meet monthly for a competition and all are welcomed to surf in the comp when they become recognised registered members. Competitions are mostly held at Neilson Park Beach at Bargara (near Bundaberg) or along the coastline if the surf is better in that area. Travel to Yepoon in the north through Agnes Water to Caloundra down south has been undertaken, joining in the competition, fun and fellowship of enjoying the surf, sand and sun with the clubs there. Club membership consists of many family groups as well as individuals who work together to organise and run comps from a mobile trailer set-up with tents, chairs, tables, BBQ, PA and sound system which enables a competition virtually anywhere there are waves. The last couple of years the clubs influence and support has seen male and female members surf in and win divisions of the Australian Surfboard Titles, which are surfed around the country. Another great time to be had is presentation night, where trophies and prizes are presented to the yearly winners of the various divisions. Comp days see us setting up at 6.30am in winter and 6am in summer, or when there is no surf we may organise a game of footy on the beach or do board races in the water or simply have a good old chat and a feed from the BBQ and catch up with everyone while sipping coffee or a cold drink. In the future the Pacifique Surfriders Club are looking at community projects to work on along the coastline to make our area more appealing and user friendly for all. Membership per year is $20 per person (social member) or $120 per family (up to 6), or $40 per competing member. All memberships contain personal insurance cover.
